- AIE — Excellent scholarship database, boasting some terrific career planning tools.
- Club Scholarship — A gateway to over 500,000 scholarship leads.
- CollegeBoard.com — The College Board is a not-for-profit membership association whose mission is to connect students to college success and opportunity.
- CollegeQuest — A tool provided by the National Association of Financial Aid Administrators linking students to hundreds of thousands of scholarships and grants, as well as information about colleges and universities.
- Embark.com — Allows students to fine tune scholarship searches based upon a number of applicant criteria - a great timesaver.
- FastWEB — Perhaps the most popular scholarship website in America. Still free to students, this database purportedly contains over a half-million funding opportunities. The downside? You need to create a personal profile. And yes: all of your classmates are using this website too.
- Finaid — A rich treasure trove of scholarship information, and well worth any student's time to locate college funding and other information about institutions of higher learning.
- Financial Aid Resource Center — Also referred to as "The Old School", this scholarship search engine is useful for both American and international students.
- Foundation Center — Linkages to for-profit and not-for-profit funding resources for colleges and institutions of higher learning.
- FundsNet — Wonderfully categorized! Clicking the "More Scholarships" link provides additional college funding sources on this page.
- Go College Scholarship Search — Although you must create a user ID and password to use this search engine - and wade through a lot of ads - it provides thousands of links to scholarships for college and graduate school.
- Grant Net — Bilss itself as a "one-stop resource to find funds for training in the sciences and undergraduate science education". As the name implies, a clearinghouse for grant information.
- Mach25 — Good listing of both college and graduate school scholarships, with total awards topping $1.5 billion.
- ScholarAid — Simply complete a personal profile to locate resources at the national, state, and local levels.
- U.S. News & World Report — Best known for its school rankings issue, U.S. News & World Report's web site is one of the best resources for learning more about institutions of higher learning, and about strategies to find funding for higher education.
- Wiredscholar Scholarship Search — Goes far beyond mere scholarship information, covering everything from tuition waivers, internships, and other opportunities to defray the costs of higher education.
